What Matters Most in Your Life?
Discovering the importance of aligning our actions and mindset with what—and who—we value most in life.
What Matters Most in Your Life?
This past week, I found myself reflecting on this question while thinking about my daily routines, work, and the many things that fill my day. For me, sticking to a daily routine—especially in the mornings—is essential. Regular exercise, quiet time, giving my best to my work, and relaxing with a book or a podcast in the evenings are all habits that bring structure and meaning to my days. These routines matter to me because they shape how I live and who I am. It also means that I must be intentional, committed, and sacrifice time to do this.
As Christians, we often say that what matters most is God. But are our actions and mindset a true reflection of this? If something or someone is genuinely important to us, the way we live should demonstrate the value we place on them. I spent some time reflecting on this idea and was confronted with the following perspectives:
Be intentional with your time. In the midst of your busy day, do you make time for God?
Let go of personal comfort and convenience. Are you willing to sacrifice your time, money, and effort to honour Him?
Take responsibility to nurture your relationship. Are you consistent, committed, and reliable in your walk with God?
Share your thoughts and admit your faults. Are you praying honestly and talking to God?
Reflect on your motivations. Why do you long to be part of God's Kingdom?
When someone or something truly matters to us, our actions are driven by love, care, and purpose. We become intentional and present, ensuring that they feel valued and supported.
This reflection was a valuable exercise for me. It helped me take stock of who and what matters most in my life. As I sat with these questions, I felt a desire and a deep longing with an expectation for God to work in my heart and my circumstances. It reminded me that true fulfilment comes when our priorities align with His.
