What is the True Purpose of success?
Reflecting on Achievements, Humility, and the True Purpose of Success
I recently graduated with a PhD and with such events, it is accompanied with joy and pride. Many photos were taken. My family was there to celebrate with me, and my colleagues at the office were equally excited and happy for my achievement. I received numerous congratulatory messages from many people.
The ceremony was special, and when the photos were shared on Facebook, the stream of congratulations made me feel seen and appreciated. I felt a great deal of recognition and acknowledgment. As I reflected on the past five years of working on weekends and holidays to achieve this milestone, it made me think about my purpose on earth. Why am I actually here on Earth? And the only answer is to glorify God. That's why He created me. That's my true purpose.
Looking at this achievement, all the recognition and congratulations would not have been possible without the Holy Spirit's influence in my life. Therefore, all the glory must go to Him. The Lord made all this possible so that He could be glorified through the process. He used me for His glory, and I must remain humble and give Him the credit. It's not about me; it's about Jesus.
We often like to showcase our achievements on social media, but it's important to be cautious and not take credit for ourselves. Doing so can make us think we no longer need God and place ourselves on the throne of our lives, a position that rightly belongs to God.
Thank you Dr. for sharing this inspiring piece. Indeed, we live by God's grace and are here to glorify His name.
