Two years. Dozens of posts. One message: God is faithful.
Reflection on writing for two years about faith and what I've learned—and I believe should be part of every believer’s walk with God.
It was a little more than two years ago when I discovered Substack as a publishing platform. What attracted me was its simplicity, and I could just jump in and do my thing. I am not really a writer, but I think I have grown into one as I went along. I must confess that I didn’t think it would last very long, as I tried doing a blog before. I started with a focus on marketing articles, but I think what made the difference is that after about 3 weeks, I just got the urge to start sharing what I experience as a follower of Jesus. Things I discovered as I grew spiritually, and I believed the ordinary person also struggled with.
It was a bit daunting for me, as I was not used to sharing personal stuff with basically the whole world. I wasn’t sure if my words would reach anyone. I didn’t know if people would care about the things I carried in my heart or the moments I shared about my walk with God. But with each article, something changed—not just in my writing, but in me. I grew. Slowly, consistently, deeply.
Looking back, I now see that the themes I wrote about weren’t random. They were part of a journey—mine, and I believe, yours too. These topics reflect the daily confrontations of the Christian life. They aren’t just theological ideas; they’re truths we live out daily. They are what I believe should be part of every Christian’s life—because they help us know God better, follow Him more fully, and live with purpose.
I have made a short summary of the main themes that emerged from the past two years of writing with links to the relevant articles.
The Holy Spirit. Need I say more? The Holy Spirit guides and empowers us to grow our relationship with God. We can’t go through life in our own strength—we need Him daily and to keep in step with Him. Read: What is the Secret to Real Change? Even if You are a Christian, You Need a Relationship with God
God’s Grace. The greatest gift we have received from God is His grace. We are not saved or changed by our own effort but by God’s grace. It’s the starting point of everything. Read: How to Come Home and Get Right with God
God’s Sovereignty. We worship a sovereign God who is in control, even when life is upside down and feels like chaos. Put your trust in Him to experience His peace that transcends all understanding. Read: A Personal Journey Through Uncertainty, Part 2: Navigating Life’s Ups and Downs
Spiritual Growth. Following Jesus is not a one-off and doesn't stop when you accept Jesus as your Saviour. It’s a daily commitment and desire to become more like Christ. It’s about letting Him shape us over time. The level to which you allow God to make you uncomfortable is the level to which you allow God to bring growth in your life. Loving God and loving people may seem simple, but it is not easy. Following Jesus requires all of you and transforms all of you. Surrender to God. Absolute surrender in every situation, good or bad, means to let go of control, which is hard, but it’s where we meet God’s power and peace. When Christ calls a man, He bids him come and die. Read: What is the Secret to Real Change? How to Come Home and Get Right with God
Trusting God in Challenges. Being a Christian doesn’t mean you will not have struggles. We are not exempted from trials but rather led through them. Life is full of struggles, but God is faithful through them all. Read: Even if You are a Christian, You Need a Relationship with God
Scripture and Prayer. Don’t grab your phone when you wake up in the morning; grab your Bible. God's Word and prayer are anchors in our walk with Him. Your prayer is, “God, teach me Your ways so that I may know You.” Through learning, you enter God’s presence and feel the closest to Him when He shares His revelation with you. They keep us grounded, fed, and aware of His voice. Read: Make God’s Word a Living Part of Your Life, Hear God Speak Directly to You
Absolute Obedience. Obedience is to take up your cross, but it isn’t a burden—it’s a response to love. It’s how we live out our faith in response to what Jesus has done for us. If a person doesn’t obey God, it suggests they might not have surrendered in the first place, and if they never surrendered in the first place, they were never saved. Read: What a Life of Obedience Looks Like, Living as a Hope-Filled Beacon for Christ
God’s Love and Relationship. Christianity isn’t just religion and going to church every Sunday—it’s a relationship with the God who loves us deeply. Read: The Key to a Deeper Relationship with God, Reconnecting with God When You Feel Distant, How Do You Respond to God’s Love?
Humility and True Success. Real success is not about acknowledgement or a big house and a fat paycheck. It’s about purpose. It’s becoming more like Christ. Read: What is the True Purpose of Success?, Breaking Free from the Need to Be Liked
Living according to the above is not easy. But then, things that matter most never come easy. The greater the demand, the deeper the payoff. The greater the challenge, the more profound the joy when it is met. The more we die to ourselves and yield to Jesus, the more we come alive. This is the paradox of the Jesus way.
To those of you who have been with me for this journey and have read along, encouraged me, or sent a message to say how something blessed you—thank you. Your feedback has often come on the days I needed it most. Even in our digital spaces, God is present, working, connecting hearts, and stirring hope.
My hope is that these themes will not only remind you of past truths but also stir you to keep walking, growing, and trusting God more deeply.
Let’s keep walking in the light together.
